A refined residential renovation overlooking the East River, 1 East End Avenue was conceived around light and outlook, with expansive window openings framing uninterrupted views of the water. Realizing that vision meant delivering glass at a scale the building was never designed to accommodate: units too large to pass through the existing entry or interior access points, even once we dismantled the frames. We developed and executed a carefully coordinated street-side hoisting operation, strategically leaving portions of the interior walls unfinished to open a clear path through the residence to each installation point. The result is a project defined by its most demanding logistical challenge, and by the expansive, uninterrupted views that challenge made possible.
